Fr. Tom Fehr

Ordained an Episcopal priest on June 20, 2009, I have been serving as chaplain of the Community of the Transfiguration since July 2014.  Just prior to that, I was priest-in-charge at Grace Episcopal Church in Pomeroy, Ohio.  I served my two-year residency after ordination at St. Luke’s in Granville, Ohio.  I have served my entire ministry as an openly gay man.

I currently serve on the Diocese of Southern Ohio’s Commission on Ministry.

I was a member of the Common Friars, a new monastic community, at the Good Earth Farm in Athens, Ohio for nearly three years before the community dissolved.

Spiritual direction has been an important part of my life.  I had a rich spiritual direction relationship of more than 30 years until my spiritual director began having symptoms of dementia.  As I grieve that loss, it will soon be time to find a new spiritual director for myself.

I enjoy walking with others as they discern God’s call for their life.  If that is something that brings you here, I would be happy to meet with you.

One interesting thing about me is that I have been adopted in to two different African families through friends I made while in seminary.  One in Kenya and the other in Zimbabwe.  One of my favorite things to do is go home for a visit!
